Who we are

Welcome to Romsey Methodist Church, “Building a community for Christ”. This page gives you some information about who we are and some of our community groups and activities.

Romsey Methodist Church is a group of people eager to spread the Good News about Jesus Christ. Jesus showed us how we should try to live our lives, and by dying and being raised to life for all of us he has made it possible for us to experience eternal life with the one true God. The Holy Spirit, who Jesus sent, helps us continue the work that Jesus started nearly 2000 years ago.

We are part of the Methodist Church of Great Britain and work with Methodist churches in Winchester, Eastleigh and the Forest Edge as part of the Winchester, Eastleigh and Romsey Circuit.

Methodists have been in Romsey since 1811 and moved to our present site on The Hundred 70 years later. In 1982 we added an extension at the rear and more recently we’ve redesigned the church to be a more flexible, warm and welcoming space.

Our place in creation and community is very important to us. We strive to use fair trade products and have been an Eco Church since 2016. In addition to our regular events, we enjoy hosting occasional events such as our annual Christmas Tree Festival, Curious Cafes and Fairs.
