Giving

A gift being given

Everything that happens at Romsey Methodist Church is made possible by the people who give to support our work.

Giving to the church is not seen as a “requirement”, but it is a great opportunity for us to work together. By pooling our resources, we can build a community for Christ. Whether big or small, all donations add up to allow us to have a big impact.

Money given to the church is used for a wide variety of things. It costs us about £2,000 a week to run the church - that includes heating, cleaning, insurance through to craft materials and updating toys.

The church council also chooses to hep other groups and charities by providing some financial support. Last year, 12% of our spending went to such causes.

If you'd like to join in and support what we're doing, there are a few simple ways you can do this.

By standing order for regular giving

Most people who partner with us choose to set up a Standing Order through their bank. This is the most helpful way to give because it allows us to plan for the future with confidence.

Our bank account details to set this up can be found here. Please see the gift aid section below to boost your gift if you're a UK tax payer.

In the building

If you’re joining us for a service or at an event, you can give in person. We have giving station points available (see right photo). These allow giving by:

  • Card & Contactless: A quick and easy option
  • Cash or Cheque: Still very much welcome in the slot at the giving station

One-off Gifts

You can make a direct donation at any time. You can choose to put your gift toward our General Fund (which keeps the lights on and the doors open) or, if you’d like your support to go toward a specific area (such as our Families Pastor’s Work) just let us know in the reference.

You can do this using our bank details or using a card payment here

Gift Aid your Donations

Boost your gift by 25% (at no cost to you)

If you are a UK taxpayer, we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give through the Gift Aid scheme. This doesn’t cost you a penny extra, but it adds up significantly and helps our funds go much further. You can register for your donations to be eligible for gift aid by completing this form. Paper forms are available in the church.

Email the treasurer

If you've got any questions on giving, please speak to our treasurer, Don, or send him a message using this form.
