1st June 2026
June is the National Month of Prayer for toddler groups. Find out how you can join us in prayer from Maggie.
This special month is part of the 1277 Make Them Count initiative—an ecumenical movement supporting church-based toddler groups across the UK. The name reflects the approximate number of days (1,277) between a child’s birth and starting nursery education. The vision is simple but powerful: to make these early days count—for children, their families, and the communities that support them.
The early years are full of precious moments of growth and development, but they can also be a challenging time for parents and carers, sometimes marked by questions or loneliness. Through toddler groups, we have the opportunity to offer support, connection, and hope. Children benefit too—learning how to engage in social spaces, building relationships with trusted adults, hearing about God, and beginning to grow in faith.
During June, churches, individuals, and toddler groups across the UK are encouraged to pray in three ways: in groups, for groups, and across groups.
This year’s theme is “The Good Shepherd”, based on John 10:14–16.
As part of this initiative, our little “sheep” have been sent to join a larger flock that will be displayed in Parliament on 1st June, helping to raise awareness and support among MPs and other guests for the many toddler groups serving families across the country.
Throughout June, there will be plenty of ways to get involved:
- Join a prayer meeting – 1st June and 29th June, 10:15–11:15am in the church
- Watch weekly reflections and prayer videos – found on YouTube and social media
- Use daily prayer prompts – available on social media for your personal prayer time
We'd love for you to join in with us.

The twin of our little sheep has been sent off to join the flock going to the reception at Parliament on the 1st June.
