Joining instructions for Funerals
The following Joining Instruction for Funeral Services (these are subject to change) will assist in your safety (and those of others) as you visit the building.
Those mourners arranging the funeral service are advised to read the risk assessment and to discuss with the Funeral Director and Minister aspects of attendance requiring clarification.
When entering and leaving the building please use the sanitisers provided.
It is a requirement that either you use the NHS app and scan the NHS Test & Trace QR code, or register your contact details with a Steward upon entry to the building.
Please be aware that seating may be restricted according to the number of people attending the service. It is advised that the number of mourners should not exceed about 30. However, a main hall can provide accommodation for those who are either self-isolating or are clinically vulnerable/clinically extremely vulnerable. The service can be streamed to the main hall.
If you or anyone from your household, or support bubble, is self-isolating, but are not symptomatic, then arrangements can be made to enable for attendance. It is advisable that mourners are aware of any others that are self-isolating so that strict social distancing is employed.
If any mourner is clinically vulnerable, or extremely clinically vulnerable, then arrangements can be made to enable attendance. It is advisable that mourners are aware of any others that are clinically vulnerable or clinically extremely vulnerable so that strict social distancing is employed also.
Mourners who have travelled from countries exempted from self-isolation requirements on arrival into the country may attend.
Mourners exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms should not attend.
The service can be recorded also for those unable to attend.
It is a legal requirement to wear a face covering on the premises unless an exemption applies.
If you are preaching, undertaking a reading or leading prayers you may remove your face covering provided you maintain a social distance of 2 metres from the nearest person.
If required, please feel able to bring your own bottle of water.
All memorabilia (eg photographs, flowers, etc) and service sheets brought to the service must be removed from the building at the conclusion of the service.
Please do not move chairs from their allocated positions.
You may sit, as a group, with up to 6 other people from different households with a social distance of at least 1 metre. However, it is preferable that the distance between households is 2 metres.
You may sit also as a group in adjacent seating with members of your own household. There is no limit to the number within a group from the same household. If required, please ask a Steward to move chairs.
Before, during or after the service please do not mingle with others with whom you are not seated with initially. This is a legal requirement.
Children should remain under the supervision of a parent/carer.
Bibles will not be distributed as readings will be displayed.
The toilets in use are clearly marked.
If at anytime you feel unwell or need help please let a Steward know.
When leaving the building please do not congregate at exit points and maintain social distancing.
